BUYING GUIDE
There are many Cookers Hoods available for you to choose from, and it may be overwhelming to decide on the most suitable Cooker Hood for your needs. Here are some guides to help you evaluate your Cooker Hood requirements:
CHOOSING THE RIGHT HOOD
as a general guide, cooker hood is expected to replace the air in kitchen by 10 times per hour. Multiplying kitchen area by 10 derives the ideal extraction rate (m3/hr)
MIN. EXTRACTION RATE = (W X D X H) X 10
CHOOSING THE RIGHT HOOD SIZE
Cooker Hood should be at least equal, or greater than the width of the Hob.
This is to ensure that smoke, steam and grease do not escape from the sides of the Hob, and achieve greater efficiency in suction power.
30~60cm Hob : Install min. 60cm Cooker Hood
70~90cm Hob : Install min. 90cm Cooker Hood
EF COOKER HOOD FEATURES
EXTRACTION MODE
Smoke and steam are passed through grease filters in the hood then discharged outside the home via ducted pipes. Grease and odours are effectively removed. Installation tends to be more complicated as ducting is required, thus suitable for larger homes with more spacious kitchens.
RECIRCULATION MODE
Smoke and steam are passed through grease and charcoal filters in the hood then clean air is returned back into the kitchen. The filters effectively remove grease particles and odours from the air. Ducting is not required, thus suitable for installation in apartments and HDB units.
